This is a blue and white porcelain bowl, a type of ceramic art with a long history. Blue and white porcelain originated in China and is known for its distinctive blue patterns on a white background. The blue color comes from cobalt oxide, a pigment that was highly valued and traded.
The bowl in the image features a floral design, which is a common motif in this type of pottery.
